ACME Distribution is a Warehousing/Transportation company located in Aurora and we are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist.

The Payroll Specialist works closely with employees, supervisors/managers to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of employee’s pay.

This office processes payroll for 300+ employees in 3 different states and is a fast-paced environment that requires the employee to be honest, respectful and possess high integrity.

The position will work close with HR on compliance, wage laws and will help with oPayrn boarding of new employees and any other tasks as needed.Essential & :
• Produce timely and accurate payroll-includes all interface and payroll processing activities
• Respond to employee inquires and take appropriate action ensuring timely review and resolution of issues
• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately
• Review data imported from time and attendance systems, including time sheets and time off notifications to ensure accurate transfer of hours worked and pay owed
• Process payrolls including entering exceptions, garnishments and other earnings or deductions
• Develop reports as needed
• Obtain, verify and process all payroll changes and updates from managers or HR including new hires, terminations, transfers and salary
• Research and resolve any pay or tax related discrepancies or inquires timely
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Prepare documentation for external auditors
• General manual checks as required
• Assist with special projects, preform general payroll functions including but not limited to data entry and processing of garnishments, new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, direct deposit, and filing
• Maintain database of current employees in timekeeping system
• Assist with On-boarding paperwork of new employees
• Other duties and responsibilities as assignedExperience and Education:
• Minimum Education: High School Diploma.

Prefer college coursework in accounting and payroll process
• MUST have recent experience with Paylocity payroll processing
• Minimum Experience: 3+years’ experience in payroll
• Basic knowledge of Human Resources
• Handle heavy telephone and email inquiries and be able to work with frequent interruptions
• Solid technology proficiency in the MS Office Suite ( Word Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work with other departments
• Sound judgement, analytical thinking and resourcefulness in the resolution of problems
• Self-starter, out-standing organizational and time management skills
• High level in attention to detail and people skills
