Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a full time Payroll Supervisor at our central business office in Westerville, OH. Central Ohio Primary Care is a network of more than 80 practices and serves more than 400,000 patients. The Payroll Supervisor oversees the payroll team to ensure payroll expense and taxes are paid correctly, on time, and in accordance with all government regulations. This position includes supervising the payroll team and communication with other members of the organization at all levels. The supervisor ensures controls and policies are being applied appropriately. This role identifies, analyzes and improves existing processes to help maximize opportunities of efficiency.  The Supervisor ensures payroll procedures are accurate, compliant and efficient.

POSITION(S) SUPERVISED:  Payroll Accountants

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review bi-weekly payroll processing including salaries, benefits, shift differentials, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.   

• Review complex calculations including profit sharing and 401k true up calculations. Lead implementation of new or updated pay policies.  

• Collaborate with HRIS team for system configuration including changes or updates as needed.  

• Oversee the year end process including tax reporting for all jurisdictions and reports needed for our financials statement review and corporate tax returns.  

• Supervise staff and manage day to day payroll processes.

• Teach, develop and coach their staff.  Sets clear objectives and performance measures.

• Ensures efficiency and looks for ways to improve efficiency.

• Analyze monthly general ledger account activity and perform fluctuation analysis.

• Review and approve monthly journal entries.

• Review and approve monthly general ledger reconciliations.

• Serve as accounting contact and collaborate across multiple business functions and levels of our organization.

• Review and improve existing procedures in these areas and suggest & implement improvements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education, Licensures & Certifications 

Required:  BS in Accounting or Finance

Required:  5+ years of related accounting/payroll work experience including 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.

Required:  In depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Ohio payroll laws.
