Pay Range: $55,000
– $63,000 Depending on experience, education, and licensure status

The Geraldine E King Women’s Resource Center provides emergency shelter and housing case management services to single women experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County.

The center will: recognize and address the distinctive needs and barriers in obtaining housing for women experiencing homelessness.

The Geraldine will aim to provide a safe, resident-centered, trauma informed environment.

All activities will be undertaken with the goal in assisting all residents in obtaining housing.

Position Summary
The Program Director will help create and supervise a program that will give every resident the best opportunities to receive safe emergency shelter and stabilization services and to obtain housing.
Essential Duties: Manage the program implementation of best practices and maintain the fidelity of those practices including, but not limited to, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and active case management techniques.

Supervise Management Team: Provide weekly supervision Provide case consultation and informal mentoring Encourage training and development opportunities Support each staff member to comply with program expectations and outcomes Ensure that best practices of Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care and case management standards are adhered to.

Provide administrative oversight for all programmatic requirements, including a deep
knowledge of housing vouchers, coordinated entry, UHMIS, reporting requirements and outcomes.
Assist in developing and leading the innovation and implementation of new programming in line with organizational vision and strategy.

Create and utilize the program budget to create a productive and desirable work environment for staff, the safest emergency shelter for women, and to obtain the highest housing outcomes for residents.

Ensure that the program fulfills all contractual requirements with Shelter the Homeless including compliance with the conditional use permit, all applicable laws and licensing standards.

Support public relations and fund-raising efforts of the agency and Shelter the Homeless, as authorized by the VOA Senior Management team, to ensure the financial success of the program and Volunteers of America, Utah Promote safety and collaboration in the neighborhood around the HRC.

Proactively work with neighbors on concerns related to the program, facilitate the Neighborhood Advisory Meeting and any other activity to promote a positive relationship with the neighbors and businesses around the HRC.

Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree, but preferably a master’s degree and licensure, in a social services field or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Other required knowledge, skills and abilities: Direct experience working with people experiencing homelessness.

3 years supervisory and administrative experience in a social service setting.

2 years budget management and program development experience.

Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment best practices.

Knowledge and understanding of Motivational Interviewing techniques, Stages of Change models, Trauma Informed Care principles and how to operationalize them within an emergency shelter for women.

Ability to interact with residents and staff by demonstrating genuine empathy, concern and understanding of their experience while maintaining professional boundaries.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Must be able to move around the building and property.

Possess a current driver’s license and have a good driving record.
