Recruiting & HR Operations Specialist

Who We’re Looking For:

The Recruiting and HR Operations Specialist will play a critical role on the Human Resources team to support activities to recruit, onboard, engage, and retain our employees. We’re looking for a self-motivated, creative problem-solver who excels in execution and thinks both logistically and strategically. An HR professional with experience developing creative solutions, focusing on the details, and seeing the big picture. The successful candidate will have experience in both recruiting and HR operations as a strategic partner who quickly establishes rapport and trust with colleagues.

What You’ll Do:

The Recruiting and HR Operations Specialist will manage processes and strategies to support recruiting, hiring and onboarding new employees to Morningstar. In addition, this role will manage programs and processes across the HR function that directly support business operations.

Recruiting Operations Responsibilities

  • Support managers in the end-to-end recruiting process, including post positions, provide recommendations for job posting strategies, consult on effectiveness of recruiting strategies and offer solutions by market and position, facilitate offer and screening process.
  • Partner with Operations and VP of Human Resources to develop and execute creative recruiting strategies.
  • Manage and develop resources to support the recruiting process (e.g. interview guides, process documents, etc.).
  • Actively manage use of external job boards, ensuring optimum ROI.
  • Facilitate and manage background check program and process.
  • Identify and cultivate community partner relationships and other creative sources of talent.
  • Facilitate college and university partnerships and recruiting strategies.
  • Manage Applicant Tracking System (ATS) – become an expert in the system, ensure functionality is optimized, train managers on proper use, innovate in use of technology.
  • Report and analyze recruiting metrics, identifying trends and summarizing for leadership review.
  • Facilitate onboarding process for new hires (manage onboarding technology and ensure optimal process with key stakeholders).
  • Develop recommendations to optimize the appearance and functionality of our careers page to attract candidates and provide the best experience.

HR Operations Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and maintain documentation for core HR processes and resource guides for employees and managers.
  • Develop and maintain a central repository of all HR resources for employees and managers and ensure information remains up-to-date.
  • Facilitate ongoing updates to Employee Handbook, coordinating with fellow HR colleagues.
  • Facilitate offboarding processes through activities like exit interviews and processes to ensure a smooth transition for employees and internal de-provisioning activities.
  • Support reporting and analysis of key HR metrics, identifying trends and solutions.
  • Manage various HR projects, programs, and new initiatives to support business operations and core HR support.

What You Need:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus in recruiting and HR operations.
  • Experience developing and managing processes to support HR practices.
  • Experience managing projects from idea to implementation.
  • Experience managing various HR technology solutions in some capacity.
  • Experience analyzing data and reporting trends.

Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture and think strategically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and focused with exceptional skills to take a project and evaluate necessary steps to execute and implement.

  • Demonstrated competence as a strategic partner to the business.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience implementing new HR technology.
  • Experiencing with ATS technology.
