Senior Benefits Manager

This is a Contract position in Dallas, TX posted June 11, 2019.

The Senior Benefits Manager will be responsible to develop, administer, communicate and lead the companys benefit programs including plan options, policy features, enrollment, and other requirements for over 3,000 US employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the strategic direction in the development and implementation of employee benefits programs for the organization.

Responsible for leading the team to successfully manage and administer the companys health and welfare plan(s), retirement plan(s), and other ancillary benefit plans as developed throughout the organization.

Lead the strategic planning and deployment of the company benefit programs.

Participate in annual benefit renewal processes evaluating and analyzing the renewal as presented by the vendors and benefits broker.

Oversee the day-to-day administration of group benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending plan, 401(k), etc).

Responsible for coordination, planning, and communication of annual enrollment.

Partner with the HR Business Partners to handle benefits inquiries/ complaints and bring to resolution.

Collaborate with Payroll in the setup and ongoing support of the online benefits system.

Maintain an understanding of all benefit customizations made to the system and support the operational team in triaging various test issues within benefits processing.

Audit and reconcile benefit plans and benefit related invoices; process discrepancy reports.

Effectively monitor and implement the requirements and impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Manage vendor relationships, negotiating services and managing costs.

Develop strong relationships with internal clients including Business Partners, providers of benefits services and external vendors to create greater efficiency, improve the delivery of services and reduce costs.

Reporting oversight and enhancements to ensure cost management and visibility Manage 401(k) plan and pension plans including annual audit; compiles and reports census data for the annual non-discrimination testing.

Manage third party vendors to ensure program management and communications are in line with company programs and legal requirements.

Partners with HR on Workers Compensation and leaves of absence (LOAs), including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, maternity, military, and unpaid leaves.

Work with HR Business Partners in responding to employee and leadership questions or concerns regarding the LOA or reasonable accommodation process and certifying the return to work process.

Identifies and makes recommendations for changes to processes and programs that can be automated or streamlined.

Provide assistance to employees regarding benefit questions, administering employee benefits orientation, annual enrollment meetings and developing/delivering the internal communications around benefit information.

Work closely with brokers and outside counsel to ensure plans remain in compliance, including annual 5500 filings, audits, communications, amendments, and plan documents.

Assure compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes, including (but not limited to) ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA.

Ensure benefit vendor interfaces are transmitted correctly and work closely with Ultimate and HRIS for carrier interface set-up and maintenance.

Ability to lead other projects and initiatives as needed.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelors in Human Resources or Business Administration with the related field of study required 7 years experience in employee benefits with proven experience managing benefit programs for a large employer 3 years of management responsibility, including working with and presenting to senior management.

Proven experience identifying opportunities and driving enhancements to programs and offerings.

Demonstrated success in the design and implementation of successful benefits and well-being strategies.

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLookups) required.

CBP or CEBS certified preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively across cultures and organizations; strategically focused on continuous improvement.

Ability to effectively work in a fast paced environment.
