Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Position Summary: The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a key member of our HR Business Partner team working with managers, employees and HR colleagues to execute people initiatives across our Content, Media Distribution & Digital Products groups.

The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and the role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs.

Communicating needs proactively within the HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions.

The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

Major Responsibilities:
Serve as the relationship owner and principal consultant for NBA senior leaders and their groups with responsibility to strategically and proactively recommend, customize and implement effective Human Resources solutions to business issues and initiatives Effectively partner with other related functions
– Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Compensation, People Operations & Systems, Benefits, and Legal
– to advance the company’s mission, values and business strategies  Proactively share client business knowledge with other HR functions Ability and willingness to defer to HR subject matter experts as needed  Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning Proactively consult with clients on the design and implementation of effective organizational structures to help clients deliver on business objectives and enable long-term success  Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR subject matter experts to develop solutions, programs and policies  Identify solutions to recurring workplace issues or concerns by collecting/analyzing data as well as relying on personal observation as input into this process Assist in interpreting major HR initiatives in collaboration with other HR functional areas (i.e., Salary Planning, Performance Management Processes, Employee Engagement) Proactively identify improvements to NBA policies and work environment; partner with HR and business colleagues to affect necessary changes Ensure all HR information is handled with a high degree of confidentiality and integrity  Manage a diverse set of company-wide HR projects and initiative, proactively with limited supervision
Required Skills/Knowledge:
A minimum of 10
– 15 years of related HR experience, focused in the business partner, employee relations, or other HR functional areas Ability to build and develop relationships, including ability to influence decision making and decision makers Experience within Media, Technology and Digital Product organizations strongly preferred Ability to effectively implement the consultant role, including providing prompt, professional and value-added service Strong business acumen, particularly knowledge of commercial operations including content distribution, licensing, & merchandising Excellent knowledge if the Human Resources field, including talent management, organization development, compensation, recruiting, & employee relations Working knowledge of labor law Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills (approachable and engaging) Executive presence including candor and clarity in conveying messages Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and creatively when resolving issues and concerns Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to collaborate effectively  Detail-oriented  Ability to anticipate the needs of the business and work proactively to provide necessary HR solutions Exceptional intuition, sensitivity (good radar) and listening skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, general business, communications or psychology is preferred
