Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The University of Maryland, College Park has an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition expert.

This position provides recruiting support and consulting services for the Division of Administration and Finance, and coordinates employment and promotional processes by working with leaders and candidates to ensure efficient employment operations.

The Division of Administration and Finance develops and maintains the Universitys infrastructure and services to help support the Universitys mission of education, research, and public service.

The Division consists of seven departments to include: Community Engagement; Environmental Safety, Sustainability, and Risk; Finance; Public Safety; Procurement and Strategic Sourcing; Real Estate; and University Human Resources.

From keeping the campus clean and safe to promoting environmental sustainability, Administration and Finance organizations play an integral role in campus operations and contribute greatly to the community experience at the University of Maryland.

The Talent Acquisition Manager manages the search process for all open positions in assigned units from vacancy to hire.

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality candidates, and advancing the Universitys brand across numerous markets and professional communities.

The selected individual will help recruit candidates using social media and other advanced recruiting methods to ensure a rich and diverse pool of candidates, and will proactively identify, source, and recruit candidates to build a diverse pipeline of candidates for current and future needs, developing a strong network with hiring managers, candidates, UMD employees, community groups, and professional networking organizations.

This position has one dotted line report (HR Specialist/Public Safety Department), and may supervise an HR Specialist/Coordinator, student employee/s, and volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree Six (6) years proven experience as a recruiter either in-house or staffing agency Hands on experience with various selection processes and familiarity with HR databases, and applicant tracking systems Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to foster and maintain relationships across a broad range of the organization with individuals.

Ability to identify and develop new recruiting concepts and execute plans.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior level leaders.

Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize effectively.

Ability to work independently with high initiative while also comfortable with working as a team member.

Strong interpersonal skills and strong relationship skillsmust be able to form external strategic alliances and ensure excellent customer service for both hiring managers and candidates.

Strong technology skills.

Demonstrated experience handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Ability to make independent judgments and to act on decisions.

Ability to be a self-starter and handle multiple tasks on a given day.

Detailed oriented.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

Preferences: Supervisory and/or lead experience managing and evaluating the work of others.

Prior experience in higher education.

The position does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

This position will require primarily local and some long distance travel (less than 10%).
