The Vice President Human Resources Operations and Technology provides operation and technology system excellence for Envision Healthcare.

The VP of HR Ops and Technology leads a centralized shared services operation, providing highly reliable and extraordinary end-user experience for enterprise-wide HR processes and technology.

In this role, the VP will build out the HR shared service operations strategy, collaborating with the Centers of Excellence (COE) and HR Business Partners and other leaders on key projects and initiatives. 


The essential functions of this role include the following:
Creates and manages the HR shared services/operations and technology strategic plan in collaboration with the senior HR leadership.

This plan of action continues the transition of HR service delivery from a decentralized model into a centralized and standardized model.

Ensures the HR service center/operations team executes on its strategic projects and serves as the single point of accountability for decision-making and escalations.

Demonstrates strong collaboration and partnership with peer HR executives for COEs and HRBOs to ensure service levels are met and/or exceeded and all operations metrics are trending in the right direction.

Achieves superior customer relationship with end users by providing monthly and quarterly metrics; conducting regular face to face satisfaction assessment meetings with customer to periodically review operations; and solicit feedback via surveys on the effectiveness of the HR service center and operations team.

Works closely with the operational executives in Information Technology and Finance/Payroll to ensure HR service center and technology deliverables.

Formulates strategic investments in technology to automate manual activities, perform system upgrades, manage ongoing vendor relationships and use strategy insourcing for outsourcing to complement internal technology or gaps in knowledge and expertise.

As a financial steward, coordinates with Finance to ensure achievement of synergies by driving the appropriate prioritization of HR business transition and technology needs across the enterprise while simultaneously determining needs vs.

wants, budget considerations and timetable requirements.

Identifies inefficiencies, cost reductions or system improvements.

Develops and executes mitigation plans.

Serves as the HR services/operations and technology thought leader to positively influence key internal stakeholders, HR system vision, architecture and strategies.

Leads the research and evaluation of innovative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness while reducing costs.

Recommends the appropriate enhancements to the HR platform and/or applications.

Ensures appropriate resources (service center, technology and personnel, including vendors) are in place to support business objectives based on operational requirements and service level agreements.

Ensures HR technology end users are appropriately trained on the service center/ technology and are provided updates on system enhancement to increase their effectiveness and ability to use the systems.

Provides strong leadership for implementations and upgrades including launch and change management processes.

Identifies and communicates system risks to key senior stakeholders.

Ensures proper documentation of processes related to share services/operations and technology.

Builds service center/operations team member capabilities through inspirational leadership, rigorous objective setting, clear roles and responsibilities, frequent feedback and cultivation of an environment of service excellence, innovation and accountability.

Streamline HR analytics, driving visibility and insights to business partners, centers of excellence and functional leaders Ensure HR related information is accurate and in compliance with management and applicable regulatory agencies.

Ensures that data governance is clear and appropriate.

Oversees management of all relevant agency and vendor relationships.

Depth of knowledge in Employee Relations processes, practices, current trends and future considerations.


Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university with a minimum of ten (10) years of broad experience in human resources management, operations, information technology or a related field is required.

Experience within healthcare industry preferred.
