Overview

The VP of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and associate relations.

The VP of Human Resources leads a dynamic HR team that works together closely to build culture, drive outcomes in the best interest of the company and enable our associates to be their best.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Operations management team and corporate leaders to support organizational goals through talent management and driving a positive work culture.
  • Influence, advise and support the cultural and people aspects of organizational change, structures, people processes and best practice initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance for management and associates regarding personnel issues and disciplinary procedures.

    Conduct investigations, coordinate associate changes and conduct exit interviews for management positions.

    This position interfaces with all associates, all levels of management and a highly functional HR team.

  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and associate incentive programs.
  • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety and other laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Exemplify Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by actively participating in the DE&I Council and maintain an environment that emphasizes associate engagement.

    Develop and implement council recommendations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • The VP of Human Resources is the direct supervisor of Talent Acquisition Manager, the HR Consultant and the Benefits Specialist.

    Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required; MBA or MA/MS Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

    A minimum of 15 years of Human Resources experience; with at least five years of executive HR experience.

  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional certification is preferred.
  • Predictive Index certification is preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer service focused
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated expertise of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and benefits
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills
  • Strong coordination, organization, and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with ADP HR systems and payroll is a plus
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take the initiative to get things done

  • Demonstrates commitment to deliver outstanding customer service – both with internal and external customers.
  • Takes ownership to personally resolve customer problems (or find someone who can).
  • Listens well, asks clarifying questions, and checks for agreement with customers.

  • Creates a personnel connection with customers – smiles, warm greetings, acts friendly and respectful, and listens well.

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.

  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
