VP of Human Resources


This is a Full-time position in Madison, WI posted June 7, 2021.

The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company.

This position is responsible for establishing and coordinating all aspects of the human resources function including recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, culture, compensation and benefits, DEI efforts, and safety/labor compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead team of 10 HR business partners and specialists
• Lead and assist in communication planning for complex employee policies, including, but not limited to, benefits changes, updates to pay structures, merit review, bonus plans, and more
• Develop organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction
• Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications
• Oversee the recruitment team as they coordinate the selection process; ensuring all interviews, background checks and related processes are completed in a timely, inclusive, and legally sound manner
• Coordinate performance review process, performance improvement plans and corrective actions in a legal, fair, and consistent manner
• Advise the HR Business Partner team to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and address escalated employee concerns as needed
• Promote and monitor Company’s culture across all offices of the company to ensure employee engagement and alignment with our overall strategic plan
• Assist as necessary with workers’ compensation claim coordination, audits, and review of claims
• Conduct, engage, and coordinate DEI initiatives, surveys, training, conversations, and communications
• Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values
• Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of HR operations and policies.

Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process improvements including assessing outside vendors
• Oversee all aspects of benefits administration and compliance (medical, workers’ comp, dental, vision, and retirement plans and committees)
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase retention
What We Expect You To Bring To The Table

• 10+ years human resources or related experience
• Certified PHR or SPHR desired
• Must be able to communicate with a diverse and distributed employee population
• Must be self-motivated, extremely organized and have good planning abilities
• Experience with gig economy or large hourly employee populations is a plus
